About Matt

Matthew Mady, a partner in the firm of Campagna Johnson Mady, P.C., has been practicing law exclusively in the field of matrimonial and family law for his entire legal career.  During his successful career, he has litigated countless cases throughout Long Island and the New York Metropolitan area, which has provided him the opportunity to obtain invaluable insights into the inner workings of the judicial system, which in turn, has allowed him to successfully represent his clients in a wide range of cases.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Mady was the managing partner of a successful matrimonial firm, which provided him with the background and experience necessary to thrive in his current role as a partner at CJM.

Mr. Mady is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the foremost family law professional organization of the most trusted leaders in Family Law in the United States.  As part of his membership in this prestigious organization, he sits on the National Admissions and Standards Committee, as well as the Law Practice Management and Technology Committee.

On a more local level, Mr. Mady is the current President of the Suffolk County Matrimonial Bar Association, as well as a member of the Suffolk County Bar Associations’ Family Law Committee.  Mr. Mady has also chaired the Suffolk County Matrimonial Bar Association’s charitable golf committee, which in just three years has raised over $150,000.00 for charity.

Recognized for his tenacity in the courtroom, as well as his deft touch in negotiating settlements outside of it, Mr. Mady has been described as an attorney capable of not only trying whatever case is presented to him, but alternatively, settling any case well. This ability has allowed Mr. Mady to tailor his approach to managing a case specifically to the facts and circumstances of that particular client. Recognizing that not every case can settle, but also that not all matters need to go to trial, Mr. Mady develops the most effective path to resolving a client’s case, both in time and in money, while keeping in mind the specific goals that the client has set out to accomplish.

Prior to starting his legal career, Mr. Mady double majored in both History and Health Science Studies at Quinnipiac University, and then obtained his Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University Maurice A. Dean School of Law, being one of the few graduates who upon graduation, was awarded a certificate of study in Child and Family Advocacy. While in law school, Mr. Mady volunteered his time representing minor children in both the Nassau and Queens Family Courts, as well as being selected as a member of the Family Court Review.

During his career, Mr. Mady has been recognized as a Super Lawyer by Thompson Reuters, which bases that designation on peer reviews and is only reserved for a small percentage of attorneys on both a local and national level.  Mr. Mady has also been selected as one of the Law Eagles of America, as well as being chosen as a Top 10 Family Law Attorney in New York by Attorney and Practice Magazine.  Additionally, he was recognized as one of the Top 10 Attorneys Under 40 by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys, as well as being ranked in the top 10 in client satisfaction for the State of New York by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. Mr. Mady has also received the prestigious Lead Counsel Award by Thompson Reuters, individually in each Family Law and Matrimonial Law. Mr. Mady has also been qualified as a High Stakes Litigator by America’s Top 100 Attorneys and has been recognized as an attorney who demonstrates excellence in the field of Family Law by Lawyers of Distinction.

Outside of the office, Mr. Mady has volunteered his time as the supervising attorney for the St. Anthony’s High School Mock Trial team. Mr. Mady has also lectured for the Suffolk County P.E.A.C.E. Program, a course that helps to educate parents going through contested custody matters on the entire process of a custody case, from beginning to end. Mr. Mady has been invited to be a guest lecturer at Touro College’s Jacob D. Fuchsberg School of Law and has also presented continuing education classes for his peers through the Suffolk County Bar Association.
